Anyone looking for a house on Mallorca starts with the portals. The finest houses are rarely found there.
One house, five listings
On Mallorca, exclusive listings are not the rule. Many owners give their house to several agents at once. Every buyer knows the result: the same house appears with different photos, sizes and prices. Without a careful eye, you end up viewing the same property twice.
What the portals show, and what they don't
Portals show what a seller wants to show in public. For special houses that is often very little: many owners want no photos of their home online, no neighbours reading along and no visitors who are merely curious.
Off-market means not public
Some houses change hands without ever being advertised. They are offered within a small circle, through agents who know the owner personally, or directly through recommendation. Access comes with years of connections on the island.
